Dallas!!

Hello my blogger buddies! I have decided to take a break from phobia posts and give all of you an update on my latest trip to Dallas. Unfortunately, my first fun and fabulous trip to Dallas was not photographed (I brought my camera, but alas, forgot to shoot any pictures!) and can pretty much be summed up in two words - house shopping! We spent the whole weekend house shopping and drooling over floor plans and property...needless to say, both Kevin and I are excited to buy a home there (knock on wood) in the future.

With the home shopping out of our system, we spent this weekend trip hanging out and seeing some fun sites. I flew in Thursday evening and had Friday to relax and to do Kevin's laundry (I am the BEST wife!) while he was at work. At lunch time (with laundry finished, folded, and hung) I was able to meet Kevin at a fun local BBQ joint called Sammy's with one of Kevin's new attorney buddies from Gibson Dunn. I was eager to try some yummy Texas BBQ and I was NOT disappointed! Delish!

After a long lunch (2 hours!) Kevin went back to work and I went back to what I love to do best on vacation - NAP!

Hey babe!

I guess I made a good impression with Kevin's new buddy because he invited us over to his house to meet his wife and play games that evening. It is a lot of fun meeting and getting to know the people Kevin is working with this summer!

On Saturday, Kevin and I met up with his cousin and his wife for lunch at Bajio's (yum!) and then hit an associate party in the evening. At the party, I was able to meet most of the associates and their wives/husbands - everyone is super nice!

Sunday was filled with sleeping in and then going to the Dallas Aquarium...and I remembered to take pictures (and went a little camera happy, I might add!)

The aquarium (it is really more like a zoo!) starts you off in the rainforest and gradually you descend into the deep abyss of the ocean...

We made it to the ground...and look what was awaiting us! Baby Crocs!

Okay, I thought this was super funny...the flamingo's are fighting! What could they possibly be fighting over - who's the pinkest?

This is the one shot I got of the cute little penguins swimming..the rest of the penguins just sat on the rocks!

See! (and yes, the yellow stuff is pee...eww!)

We went under the water level to see some very cute and playful manatees being fed by a scuba diver...manatees look so sweet!

And then we went into the shark tunnel! (Yes, behind the glass with the hand smudges there are lots of sharks swimming!)

Okay, so this was really funny too. So there was a little area for this native dance performance and during the performance the eagle man (look at his headdress) took fire and started burning himself...not too smart! It looked like it really hurt and after the performance he said over and over again for the children to NOT try this at home and that he does get burned from doing this...and i had to ask myself, why the heck does he do it then?

We had a ton of fun at the aquarium!

After the aquarium and eating some much needed ice cream, we decided to stop by the spot where President JFK was assassinated and talk to the conspiracy theorists...these guys take this VERY seriously! So seriously, in fact, that they have decided to forego having real jobs to educate the public daily about what REALLY happened!

This may seem a little morbid, but I had to get a picture of Kevin standing on the "x" (yes, "x" does mark the spot) where JFK was shot. The thing is, as you can see, the "x" is in the middle of a busy freeway entrance and so Kevin had to dash into traffic to get this shot! I also ran out there, but I am declining to post the picture (not too flattering!).Here is a picture of the street (you can barely see the two x's on the ground...one is right next to where the car is driving and the other is just ahead of the car)
