18 Months

I adore this little girl and tomorrow she is officially 18 months old!
She is so full of personality and opinions that we just have to laugh and smile when we are around her.
I know it is so cliche, but she is such a ray of sunshine!

A little bit about Reagan right now:
  • She says Mama/Mommeeeeee, Dada/Daddeeeeee, "Hieeee" (hi), Byeeee (bye)& Nana, but most of the time everything is just "na" (usually as she points to things).
  • Typically as we drive around town, all I hear is a constant chorus of "Mommeee! Mommee!Mommee!" I don't even think she takes a breath! Adorable...
  • She LOVES animals whether in print, on TV, over Facetime (she adores my sister's dog Iris!), or especially at the park. If she sees something furry, she squeals and points and gets sooooo excited! In fact, she even saw a billboard for the movie Godzilla and squealed with delight! As I am typing this, she is handing me a toy dinosaur and squealing!
  • She just adores babies! Poor little Isabel Hansen gets a lot of time with Reagan poking at her and squealing! She received a few baby dolls and strollers for her first birthday and they are now one of her favorite toys!
  • She loves to play with her brother - it doesn't really matter what they are doing, she wants in! Of course, this has led to lots of toy stealing on both sides and many, many, many discussions on sharing!
  • She likes to use all toys as "phones." She holds up the toy to her ear and says "eh-o?" (hello) and sometimes "eh-o, Nana?" She picked this up from us playing "phone" with her and telling her the phone is for her and that Nana is calling.
  • She demands to hold the iPad when we are Facetiming, leading to lots of time staring at Reagan's forehead and the ceiling for the caller!
  • Reagan loves her blankets (the soft gauzy, swaddling ones) and cuddling before and after sleeping with at least two blankets and me :)
  • Nothing gets by this little girl! She can tell when you are eating candy and she wants it! She will go stand in front of the "hiding" spots and cry like a banshee until you give in! Her favorite is M&Ms and chocolate.
  • Speaking of chocolate, she loves cake!
  • As you can tell from the pictures, her hair is coming in! There is just a little curl coming in and soon we will have little pigtails! Of course, she doesn't want to keep her bows on and usually rips them off soon after they are put on :(

  •  She is quite good at eating with utensils, but she is a little stinker and LOVES to throw food on the ground for mommy! So hilarious, Reagan!
  • One of her favorite things to do is to lift up my shirt and poke at my stomach and laugh! She does this to Kevin as well but will lift up his shorts and poke at his knee - not sure what she finds so funny!
  • She is the queen of the cutest little baby tantrums! If she doesn't get her way she loves to dramatically throw herself on the ground and cry or to stalk off and cry in a more comfortable spot! Silly girl!
  • She loves her daddy! If she hears him coming home, she squeals and will only be held by him for awhile
  • Although she doesn't speak much yet, she understands so much and follows directions pretty well! She can get her own shoes (which she does anytime she wants out of the house), go upstairs, etc and I am always surprised when I ask her to do something (sit on your bum!) and she complies!
  • Her favorite foods include pancakes (yesterday for dinner she ate 5 pancakes! To put that in perspective, Kevin and I both had 6 each and were stuffed!), waffles, scrambled eggs with ketchup, most fruit, mac n'cheese, teriyaki chicken and rice, hot dogs, cheeto puffs, french fries, ketchup (yup! she likes to dip her finger in there and just eat it!), and ice cream!
  • She prefers for mommy to put her to bed. We always have a little snuggle first.
  • She has her own spot on the couch! One day while I was sitting on the couch, she came up to me fussing and pushing my leg and I assumed she wanted to be held. Wrong! She wanted my spot on the couch! She likes her little spot!
  • She is a trouble maker! Her favorite activities include making messes for mommy and then waiting until everything is clean and then making more messes!
  • She is not a fan of having her teeth brushed. Colin has always taken it like a pro, but she fights it every night!
  • I love running errands with my girl on Tuesday/Thursday when Colin is in school (not sure if she feels the same way!)
Well, I am sure there's more! We love our little girl and are forever grateful to have her in our family!

"May" Oui!

Ice cream at the park...

Cooking with mommy!

While Steve was in town, we picked up Pecan Lodge BBQ - YUM!!!

First pool day of the season!

Crazy kids in Primary!

Magnet time!

Since Colin is not napping regularly, he has been falling asleep at odd times.
Target at 5PM and one tired boy!

Reagan is getting pretty adept at her new scooter!

Muffins with Mommy at Colin's school.

Just hanging out!

For Mother's Day my mom sent me this beautiful necklace!

For Mother's Day Kevin whipped up some delicious Monte Cristo sandwiches...so good!

A few weeks ago we got a rowing machine (my knees just aren't up to running these days!) and Colin enjoys going for a row too!

Rain!

We have had some fantastic rain storm lately!
After a full day of rain, the kids were itching to jump around in the puddles and I decided to be the "cool mom" and let them go crazy!

Bluebonnets!

April in a Nutshell

Before May gets away from us, I need to chronicle April!

These kids love to help cook!

Dressing up like Fix-It Felix from Wreck-It Ralph

I LOVE conference weekend!
This was a special moment watching President Packer's talk.
His talk was amazing and specifically resonated with both Kevin and me.  If you haven't heard it, you can watch it here.

I was feeling extra crafty and made this little sign for my bear, another sign for the table, and tried my hand at a table runner.

We watched The Sandlot for family movie night - the kids loved it, but holy cow! There are a ton of swear words for a kids movie!

Nana was on a mission to spoil my kids and sent a boy and girl Potato Head Easter Bunny in addition to some other fun toys!

We were invited to a baseball game with the Hansens and had a blast!
We even got to see George W. Bush from afar! (blue shirt next to the security guard)

An awesome Mavs game with the Chelius'

I loved spending time with Baby Molly! She is such a doll!

Colin has stopped napping everyday, but sometimes I can trick him into a nap if we snuggle and sleep in my bed! I love getting to spend one on one time with him, especially when he is being cuddly!

A few days before Easter, Reagan had a really high temperature for several days.  She was so pathetic and sick! All she wanted to do was cuddle, but I didn't want to keep her warm so we made her a little bed on the couch next to me and watched movies and napped for a few days.

Look at how sad she looks!

With a temperature of 103.5, I couldn't leave her to attend Colin's Easter party, so thankfully Cindy was there to take pictures!

After a few sick days, Reagan was ready for a drive in "Daddy's Black Car."
She loves driving with the windows down!

After watching The Sandlot, Colin is convinced that the proper way to catch a ball is to stick your glove in the air and wait for a ball to drop in to it, just like Smalls.

While I was getting ready for Easter dinner, Reagan decided to sit at the table and wait.
She was still recovering from her bug, as you can tell.

The Spring weather gets us out side often!

Colin requested a big carrot and apples for breakfast one morning...he can be so strange in his eating habits!

We had a fun Ladies Night Out to see Beauty and the Beast and loved Gaston!

One of the fun presents Nana sent are these magnets. Colin spends HOURS playing with them and building houses, balls, and rockets!

Watching Toy Story with his little buddies!

We were so excited to have my brother, Steve, in town for two weeks while he completed some flight training! We headed up to the Rockwall Harbor on a beautiful evening for dinner and a stroll.

After seeing the play Beauty and the Beast, we had to watch the Disney original! The Larsen's let us use their media room for a fun morning!

I serve in the Primary in our ward and LOVE watching the Sunbeams each Sunday! They are hilarious!

I love this little girl and she loves eating corn on the cob!

One morning I watched Isaac and he requested a big carrot just like Colin! Silly boys!

I have the most amazing friends! I wanted to buy some furniture at Ikea and so Cindy and Kaity and all of our kids headed up to Frisco to outfit my new craft room!  3 moms and 6 kids! It was a little (or a lot) crazy but we accomplished our missions!

While I am cooking dinner, these two goofballs love to watch the picture change on Pandora...silly kids :)

Phew! Looks like we were pretty busy!

According to Colin:
  • "You're the best girl ever!"
  • "This was the best dinner ever!"
  • "You're an awesome girl, mom!"
  • "How'd your day?"
  • Me (discussing the difference between boys and girls): How do you know daddy is a boy?
    • Colin: Because he's handsome!
  • Colin (perfectly healthy): "cough, cough. I have a cough! I should watch a show"
  • According to his Preschool teacher when I picked him up from school one day he told her "That's my mom - she's beautiful!"
  • "Ah! That's cute!"
  • To Daddy "You're my best friend ever!"
  • Me (talking about future professions): "You can be a fireman or a lawyer like daddy!"
    • Colin: "Or a kitten?
These kids are keeping me busy! They are just so much fun!
