BRAGGING TIME!!!

A lot of guys think they are married to someone pretty special.  Tragically, most of them are, at best, misguided, and often they are completely wrong.  Seriously, I’ve met a lot of other guys’ wives, and many of them are totally forgettable.  My wife, on the other hand, is amazing!  Oh, you don’t believe me?  You want proof?  Well, my wife has two gold medals.  What has your wife ever done?

To bring you up to speed, throughout the summer Leslie has been getting up every day at 5:30 a.m. to work out with the Mesquite Marlins, a local swimming club.  For Leslie, swimming has always been in her blood.  In high school, she was an exceptional swimmer and water polo player.  And while we were at BYU, she started a highly successful water polo club.  Recently, she realized that having two children, keeping a perfectly clean house, and always having delicious, healthy, homemade meals prepared when the husband comes home from work is just too easy.  Evidently, she needed a new challenge in her life.
After a few weeks of loosening up the old Speedo, Leslie was ready for her first competition.  Her events: the 50 and 100 yard freestyle.  Unfortunately, entrants in her age bracket, 25-40, were relatively few, so her races were combined with the 40+ age bracket.  I know what you’re thinking, but don’t let age fool you.  Just because some of the women against whom Leslie was competing were in high school when Kennedy was shot, does not mean they were slow. They could still move through the water like a Cold War-era torpedo.  And not all of the women were old; in fact, many were Leslie’s contemporaries or slightly younger.  Nonetheless, she won both races by greater than half a pool length!

Colin, Reagan, and I cheered from the stands, beaming with pride!  It was awesome to see Leslie in her element.  I am so proud of her!  She likes to downplay the feat, but it was incredible!

Seven Months

While we were on vacation, Reagan turned seven months and I just can't believe how much she has grown! I weighed her the other day and she is 20.5 lbs and so tall!!!  She is currently wearing anywhere between size 9 and 18 months!

Here's a little bit about Reaggie right now:

She's a big "crawling tease!"
She's been rocking, rolling, scooting, and even crawling backwards for over a month, and she still hasn't crawled forward yet!

She has eight teeth...EIGHT!!

She is eating really well and enjoys squash, peas, sweet potatoes, pears, peaches, green beans, and bananas.

Reagan enjoys her baths and swimming  (as long as the water isn't too cold)

Her hair is getting a tad longer (so hard to tell from the pictures) and I can't wait to be able to clip bows in her hair.

Her favorite toys are her blocks and her stacked rings.

She absolutely loves her brother and loves when he tries to make her laugh.

She is extremely smiley! She always smiles and is easy to laugh - she always gets my jokes :)

We love this little girl!
