The week of Valentine's day I completely threw my back out - I mean, I was on the ground and could not move!  Thankfully, my wonderful friends took care of the kids for several days so I could recuperate with the help of some fantastic drugs!

After being inspired by Kevin's aunt Liz, I decided to try my hand at canning chicken! She even came out to help me! Aren't these pressure cookers scary looking? It wasn't nearly as hard or as scary as it looked and I will definitely be doing it again!

Aunt Liz helping chop all the chicken! We canned 80 lbs of chicken and got 72 pints and some left over in the freezer.  The chicken is tender and yummy and perfect for adding to recipes! No more boiling chicken for me!! 

(We ordered the chicken through Zaycon Foods...check them out!) 

Some fun friends from our ward invited us to his law firm's box at the American Airlines Center for the Imagine Dragons concert - it was so amazing! I haven't been to that many concerts, but this was so  much fun! They were fantastic!!

Reagan Rocks the Perot!

Reagan is so much fun right now!

She walks everywhere and loves to just wander whenever she has the freedom.

Last week we took some friends to the Perot Museum and Reagan had so much fun participating, learning, discovering, and playing in the children's area.'

Of course she wasn't the only one having fun! Colin loved having his buddies, Peter and Isaac, there to check out the dinosaurs and race the cheetahs!

Valentine's Day Activities

On Valentine's Day, Kevin came home with giant lollipops from work for the kids...Colin was so excited about his giant sucker!

On Valentine's Day, Kevin usually sends flowers, but this year I specifically requested that he didn't.  I didn't want him to waste the money since we were planning on going out to a fancy dinner the next day. i asked, instead, for a poem!

On the 15th, we had a group of 12 and our own private room at one of my favorite steak houses, The Capital Grille.  They have this amazing steak with a pepper rub and balsamic vinegar that is to die for! Not to mention their unsurpassed creme brulee and cheesecake...so delicious!

Seriously, the best I have ever had...and I am kind of a creme brulee snob!

It was so much fun to be in our own room and at a round table! It made for easy conversation between the whole group and lots of fun! We have some amazing friends and everyone is so funny!  We look forward to our weekends so we can go out with all of them!
