Erin Go Bragh!

St. Patrick's Day is a pretty big deal in the Grady household. In fact, in the month of March, you can call us the O'Grady's (historical sidenote - this was Kevin's ancestor's last name until they dropped the O' when they came to America in an effort to hide the fact that they were Irish and in turn reduce prejudice...yeah, I don't think people needed the O' to realize the redheaded guy with a thick Irish accent was indeed Irish!!)

Anyway, we O'Gradys like to have a pretty awesome St. Patrick's Day party every year, and this year we were so excited to have some extended family join us as well (not to mention the most adorable little leprechaun)!

Doesn't look like he wants a kiss!

Some of the amazing food people brought
How cute is this veggie dip?
Derek enjoying the greatest corned beef ever
(seriously people...don't knock corned beef until you've had mine! I have made believers out of the most anti corned beef haters!)

A big thanks to all of my family (especially my mom) for all of the help with the party and to Karen for taking all of these pictures for me - you're the best!

Three Months...

Yeah, he thinks he's pretty hilarious!

And he thinks he's pretty cool
And do you know what? We think so too!

Fort Worth Zoo

It is spring break here in Texas and also back in Utah, so we have been enjoying the company of my sister-in-law, Lisa, her husband Derek, and their adorable little girl Lydia as well as my fabulous mother-in-law Artis.
Lisa hanging out with Lydia and Colin
We've been hanging out late, eating (a LOT!!), and doing the tourist thing and thought that going to the Fort Worth Zoo would be a fun idea...let's just say that humans out numbered the animals in the zoo about 1,000 to 1! It was CRAZY packed, but we made the most of the "stroller wars" and constant feeling of claustrophobia and still managed to see all the lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!) without tantrums from the kiddos or me!
Colin slept most of the time and when he finally woke up the poor guy was starving! It was near impossible to find a quiet place to feed him, but we made do and he was such a happy camper for the rest of the day!
Colin has discovered not only how awesome his fist tastes but also how to get said fist to his mouth whenever he wants a snack!

A happy grandma with all of her grandkids :)
Derek and Lydia
Can you tell Colin does NOT like the sun?
Who doesn't love a baboon butt?
It was a fun day!

Such a Blessing!

On Sunday, March 13th, Kevin blessed Colin at church. It was a really beautiful blessing and I am so glad that my wonderful husband was able to do it and that much of our families were there for the event.

Colin was REALLY good and slept through most of the day - being the center of attention is exhausting!
It was so much fun to have my mom and dad and my mother-in-law Artis there for the blessing. Artis flew up as a surprise and we were so glad she could make it.
Kevin's sister Lisa and her husband Derek (and little Miss Lydia) came here for spring break, but mostly for the blessing, of course! And as always, we were glad to have the Sharp clan with us too! Karen beat me to the punch by posting about this before me on her blog!
Our good friends, the Hoods :)
It was a fun, but exhausting weekend! Thank you everyone for your help!

Two Months...

I realize that not everyone is as in love with my little boy as I am, and you all may be getting a little tired of Colin-centric posts, but I am not nearly as cute as this guy right now! (reference previous post about losing baby weight!)

Colin had his 2 month appointment yesterday and took his shots like a man! He cried for about 2 seconds, and then I picked him up held him and he stopped...such a sport! I expected to cry myself, but since he didn't cry for very long I just didn't feel too bad. Does that make me a horrible mother? I also didn't cry when I saw him for the first time after he was born, but I attribute that more to the fact that I was in some sort of state of shock and was more concerned with the fact that my body would not stop shaking uncontrollably.

So here goes our 2 month old home photo shoot:

Colin has a TON of personality and coos all the time!

But a lot of the time he just stares at either me or, more often, the ceiling.
This is the wide-eyed stare that says "Mom, I think you are weird! What's with all the pictures?"
I love this shot because it reminds me of one we took of him in the hospital...I can't believe how much he's grown!

It's Time...

...to lose the baby weight!
I plan on looking smokin' hot when Kevin and I go on vacation this year!
(location TBD...swimsuits, beaches, and pools a MUST!)
PS - A Big THANK YOU to Mike for helping Kevin set up the treadmill!

A Smattering...

Random post time!

He's pensive when he sleeps!
And he's learning to smile
But he's still a great crier
And he looks adorable when he matches Daddy for church!
(Thanks to Aunt Karen for the cool matching ties!)
