Reagan Turns One!

One month ago TODAY, our baby turned one!
We celebrated with friends, BBQ, cupcakes, sugar cookies, and one messy baby!

I love this little girl!

Reagan's cake

Reaching into the fire...oops!

Pale baby and chocolate cake...heck yes!

Our friends all generously gave Reagan some much needed girl toys!

She even got the most adorable sock monkey hat!

The next morning she was playing with her new baby and she wanted her hat on...and then I noticed she was matching her new baby! Bald with polka dot jammies!

Reagan at one:
- She still isn't walking! She walks along everything but refuses to take an independent step! Crawling is just too convenient!
- She has 12 teeth...wow!
- She is still a mean baby and prefers pulling out arm hair, pinching the fat on the backside of your arm, hitting you (meaning me!) in the face (specifically my nose), pulling hair, and generally beating up those around her
- She is a super squawky little thing! She has quite a distinct pterodactyl screech that can be heard for miles! When she gets excited, it gets higher and higher pitched!
- She loves playing in her kitchen, chewing on toy trucks, and destroying Colin's train table.
- She pays very close attention to the gate at the bottom of the stairs and will crawl like lightning over to the stairs if she sees it open
- She is still pretty clingy with me, but is really developing a special bond with daddy
- She is FINALLY getting on board with milk! We tried putting chocolate sauce in it, making peach and pear smoothies with milk, adding splenda, warming it, etc. Persistence pays off! She is starting to drink it!
-She loves to clap and waves goodbye on command
- She loves remote controls and phones
- She loves to eat and will hang out in her high chair for a long time, allowing me to clean up or get things done
- She is a great baby! She takes two naps and sleeps all night and is getting better at sleeping in later in the morning.

November Photo Dump

Let's play catch-up, shall we?

I often wake up to this little guy on my floor! He'll sneak in, make a bed with my comforter and fall back asleep.  Sometimes I wake up to a little sneeze, a little face in my face (freaks me out every time!), or a tiny giggle...and sometimes it is a surprise in the morning! I love sleeping children!

And speaking of sleeping children, this one almost always has her bum in the air!

This November, we made a thankful tree and Colin's first leaf was pretty telling...

Overnight, we went from 80 degrees to 20! Since we knew the cold front was coming, we made sure to hit the park!

We had some friends over for a Thanksgiving craft that turned out adorable!

With the cold weather, we bundle up!

Kevin worked late and so we grabbed "Old BackDonalds" with friends...Colin watched TV from the top of the play place!

Colin was excited to meet Santa this year at Bass Pro and told him that he wanted a "Buzz Lightyear and a red car" (power wheels car)

Halloween Festivities!

We have had a great Halloween full of good food, costumes, candy, and fun!

We started out with our Ward Trunk or Treat...and our costumes rocked!
May I introduce Mary Poppins, Bert, Jane and Michael Banks!

Next we hit up the Zollinger's party with the kids...
Good food, pumpkin carving, face painting, and lots of fun games!!

Then we made an appearance at Kevin's Halloween office party and won Most Creative Costume :)
I made Bert's scarf and his chimney sweep with pipe cleaners, duct tape, hot glue, and a painters pole. And his soot is really from our fireplace!

I love the idea of Reagan crawling around Kevin's office!

Colin makes a cute Michael Banks!

This is what Jane and Michael's costumes are based on:

I made Colin's shorts and his kite...

Unfortunately, my sewing skills are not quite up to making Jane's dress...but Nana was definitely up to the task!  I just told her which dress to make, and tada!!
She was able to whip up her dress and it is just so perfect!
From the collar to the fabric to the scalloped edge...I just love this dress!

 Off to trick or treat!
As for my costume, I made my bow tie and my hat and my mom supplied the umbrella (she was MP a few years ago)

Isn't Julie Andrews beautiful as Mary Poppins?

Aren't these the cutest little trick or treaters?

I think we are all Halloweened out!

Blase Family Farm

What an amazing time of year!
I can't tell you how happy I am to wear scarves, pants, and sweaters!
No more showing off pale legs in swimsuits that hardly flatter - my pale skin was meant for the fall!

We had another fun outing with friends and headed to Rockwall's Blase Family Farm to feed longhorns (that's just how we roll in Texas!), go for a hayride, have a picnic lunch, and run around the hay maze!

I love these kids!

Little besties!
