Ba-Ball

The kid loves sports and specifically holding and throwing balls.  Almost every night after dad comes home, Colin and Kevin play "ba-ball," Colin's word for basketball, baseball, and anything having to do with sports related balls.

He loves to watch Rangers games with Kevin at night and to watch the big boys play basketball at the park.
So every once in a while, Kevin will take him to the church gym to play some ba-ball.

He pretty much stands there holding a ball while Kevin takes some shots - BUT HE LOVES IT!!
Holy cow!  He gets so excited!

Good thing this kid is going to be tall!

Bowling

Last Saturday we went bowling with some friends as a kind of end of summer treat.  Between the music, food, lights, and games, Colin had a blast!

Kevin playing SkeeBall with the kids

We have some really fun and crazy friends...Andy decided to wear a mustache just for kicks (and because it drives the ladies wild...or so he said!)

Let's compare the size of the bowling ball to my stomach...yeah, not fun to think about!

Colin was dancing to the music (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!)

Dada is actually a pretty good bowler!

Notice the Turkey?

Jocelyn and her cute little boy Peter

 Adorable Eliza

Colin wouldn't cooperate for this shot, but I don't often get to be in the pictures!

Museum of Nature and Science...a Children's Playland

The other day my friend Kaity invited us along to the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science and Colin had so much fun! Their children's museum was perfect for keeping the kids entertained and beating the Dallas summer heat!

Digging for dinosaur bones

Blowing huge bubbles

Colin doesn't care what any of the exhibits are - he just loves that he can touch everything!
Opening and closing drawers and cabinets?  Yes, please!

Playing with puzzles...I think I will!

Pushing buttons...my favorite!

Throwing fake tomatoes that looks deceptively like a red balls?  Heck yeah!

Teaching Colin his animal sounds has really fostered an interest in animals all around him (mostly doggies).  Since he knows the snake sound, he was excited to touch a live one!

We will definitely have to go back - thanks, Kaity for getting us in for free :)

Sh-Shoe

My little boy loves shoes.
He calls them sh-shoes.
He loves his and he loves ours!
I can usually stop a temper tantrum by saying that I will put on his shoes...silly boy!
He loves to pull our shoes off the shelf and bring them to us so we can put them on.  He usually brings me my running shoes and while this kind of upsets Kevin (because they are girl shoes and have pink on them) I think it is a lot better than Colin trying to walk in my heels!

How can I blame him?  He gets it from his mom, I guess!

Moon Day

The Frontiers of Flight Museum here in Dallas was hosting a special "Moon Day" in celebration of the anniversary of the first landing on the moon (July 21, 1969) and if you know anything about Kevin, you know he loves learning about space and the history of space exploration.

Colin wasn't all that thrilled, but was a good trooper as daddy showed him the space capsule from Apollo 7:

(I love how complicated the door is!)

Colin even got strapped in a jet seat (again, he looks so happy to be there, huh?)

He did get pretty excited about the cutest kid sized airplane, though!
 Colin is playing co-pilot!

When we let the other kids take a turn flying, Colin was perfectly content to sit in the passenger seat.  Seriously, if he sat this still on a real plane, it would make my day!

A lot of the museum is sponsored by Southwest airlines, so Kevin had to get a picture next to one of the flight attendants in hot pants!

Were those really the good old days of flying because I am pretty sure that girl got sexually harassed on every flight!

WhirlyBall!!

Ever heard of WhirlyBall?  No?  I didn't think so!  Let me introduce you to one of the coolest games ever!  Seated in bumper cars, you play a cross between lacrosse and basketball on a court in teams of two, all the while hitting each other so hard your hips and legs get bruised, but you are laughing so hard it doesn't matter!

Well, some friends organized a fun outing to go play and since I am preggers, I couldn't play but I had the chance to take some pictures of the craziness!

Score!

It gets pretty heated down there!

One happy guy!
