I went to my very first Mary Kay Seminar!
It was definitely something!
Seminar is Mary Kay's annual conference for the Independent Beauty Consultants. They hold classes, trainings, "rah rah" speeches, entertainment, and an award ceremony. It was absolutely inspiring and I felt like I could conquer the world after I heard some of the speeches (or at least sell a lot of make-up!). Say what you want about Mary Kay, but they definitely empower women!
They actually hold five rounds of the Seminar to accommodate all the attendees. For two weeks, Kevin and the other members of the Legal department took turns manning the Legal Resources booth, attending sessions, and being available for lunches, dinners, meet and greets, and other activities.
Kevin and I sneaked onto the main floor of the conference before the hoards of women began showing up.
This is the BMW that the women can earn...pretty slick, huh?
Waiting for the "Wizard of Laws" training to begin. We were able to snag VIP seats on the floor of the convention arena.
It was so much fun watching the training! They had a mix of live and prerecorded segments and it was so cute!
I was bursting with pride as I listened to 7,000 women chuckle at Kevin's jokes :)
That evening we went to the Awards ceremony. It was so fun getting dolled up! I didn't want to buy a new dress so I slipped on the skirt from my high school prom dress, a black top, and a belt to cover up the fact that I can't latch up the back of my skirt!
At the Awards Ceremony they had three singers from the Voice and they were fantastic! For the opening number they had these amazing acrobats and dancers - it was so much fun!
The awards ceremony recognizes the immense work of the beauty consultants for personal sales, recruiting, and philanthropy. It was like the Oscars for make-up!
